Purpose

  • People who enjoy supporting others financially and are committed to meaningful causes in society on the one hand (=donors) and (=recipients) people who cannot afford the seminars and support offered by Fokus Empathie but would still like to participate.
  • The support fund is strictly earmarked for this purpose: the funds received are used solely and exclusively for seminars, coaching and therapy for people in financial difficulties at Fokus Empathie.

Public accountability

Fokus Empathie undertakes to report publicly on the support fund on an annual basis. This includes the total amount of income and expenditure, the number of people supported, a note from the trustee and (where available) anonymised acknowledgements from supported individuals.

Administration

  • The administration of the fund, namely the assessment and determination of the use of the funds, is the responsibility of the support fund committee appointed for this purpose. It consists of the shareholders of Fokus Empathie GmbH plus an identical number of persons elected by the shareholders' meeting.
  • The committee decides on support, i.e. which persons receive support and how much support is granted. At least a two-thirds majority of the committee is required to grant support funds.
  • No minutes are kept of the decisions. This is to ensure the protection of privacy. The committee members are bound to secrecy, even five years after leaving office. The committee members work on a voluntary basis.
  • The technical administration of the funds is the responsibility of the respective financial institution.

Supervision

The trustee responsible for Fokus Empathie's accounting and annual financial statements is responsible for verifying the proper use of the support fund's funds.

Established

The support fund was established in February 2025 by the management of Fokus Empathie GmbH.

Dissolution

If the support fund is dissolved, the capital it contains can only be donated. The management is responsible for the dissolution and the decision on the donation. The dissolution of the support fund and the donation will be reported publicly.
